How Much Does a Personal Trainer in Bangkok Cost?
Updated: Nov 17
Your complete guide to personal trainer prices and costs in Bangkok.
If you're looking for a fitness trainer and are wondering what the costs are, this article is for you. This blog post clearly details personal trainer price in Bangkok.
Hi everyone, I'm Dennis Romatz, professional personal trainer and holistic wellness specialist and owner at Dennis Romatz Personal Trainer in Bangkok.
I've been a personal trainer since 1986 and a personal trainer in Bangkok since 2005.
Thus, I have a ton of insightful information in the area of Bangkok personal trainer prices. In this blog, I'll outline the various price levels and explain in detail the type of personal trainer you can expect in each price category.

How Much Does A Personal Trainer In Bangkok Cost? What Are The Prices And Costs?
Hiring a personal trainer in Bangkok costs from 300 - 800 Thai Baht ($9 - $24) for an unqualified or newly certified coach to 3,000 Thai Baht ($90) and higher for a coach holding an NCCA accredited personal trainer certification or a University Exercise Science BS or Master's degree with twenty plus years of coaching experience and specializations.
Prices for a trainer in Bangkok will vary if they work inside a gym or if they are a freelancer training in-home or at condo gyms. Gym trainers working for commercial gyms are typically cheaper than freelance trainers working at condo gyms.
If you would like a personal trainer to come to your house, there will be a slight additional charge.
Typically freelance, mobile coaches in Bangkok will cost 300 - 500 Thai Baht more per session to account for their travel time and expense to and from their client's location. Prices will be slightly higher as the distance needed to travel gets further from the trainer core area.
So, if you're considering a personal trainer, you may want to do a simple Google search using "personal trainer near me cost" or "private trainer near me" to get a list of trainers closer to your condo gym who may be cheap.
By the way, private personal training is definitely the way to go. It saves a ton of time wasted in traffic traveling to a gym which may have the cheapest trainer, but will cost you more in travel time.
+ UPDATE...I've add a new personal trainer Bangkok price category. It's entitled "cheap personal trainer Bangkok". This is not a joke. You'd fall out of your chair when you see how many emails I get from people asking for a "cheap Bangkok personal trainer".
I'm always baffled by how people can spend unlimited amounts of money on foods that make them fat and out of shape, but balk at spending money on a personal trainer who will make them fit and healthy.
Cheap Personal Trainer Bangkok
A personal trainer in Bangkok in this category is an absolute waste of time...period...end of story.
This person has no fitness education.
This person has no personal trainer certification.
This person has no personal trainer experience worth putting on a resume.
This person has no personal trainer resume.
This person has no personal trainer website.
This person has no marketing skills.
This person has no way of getting clients so they offer the lowest price.
Don't...just...don't!
300 - 1,000 Thai Baht Personal Trainers in Bangkok
Personal trainers in this price range are unqualified, lack a relevant certification or have little or no fitness training experience.
It is wise to avoid coaches in this price range as their lack of formal anatomy, physiology and especially kinesiology education puts you at risk of injury while training.
Although these prices seems cheap, this would not actually be considered an affordable personal trainer in Bangkok as you will spend more for training longer than it's worth. Penny wise and dollar dumb is the saying that comes to mind when reviewing value in this price range.
This price category can also be considered "cheap persona trainer in Bangkok" (waste of time).
1,200 - 1,400 Thai Baht Personal Trainers in Bangkok
Coaches in Bangkok in this price range typically work at commercial franchised gyms. They will most often be certified by a local organization which is not accredited by the NCCA.
Freelance coaches charging per session in this price range typically have a weak training resume, are not certified and do not have a professional website to market themselves, thus, the lower price.
Trainers in this price range are not your best investment as they often time lack the anatomy & physiology necessary for being able to identify body parts and train them.
1,500 - 1,900 Thai Baht Personal Trainers in Bangkok
Personal trainers in this price range are typically foreigners with a relevant certification, and between 5 - 10 years of experience.
1,400 seems to be the "sweet spot" for foreign freelance coaches as most will be charging this rate for services at condo gyms within the Sukhumvit Road / Asoke Road area where they are in most demand with the Expat clientele living in this area.
Some will charge within this price range and closer to 1,700 Thai Baht as it is congruent with the International standard rate of $50 per session.
2,000 - 2,400 Thai Baht Personal Trainers in Bangkok
Personal trainers in this price range are typically foreigners with a relevant certification, University degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology and 10 plus years of fitness coaching experience.
Fitness coaches charging these prices are a much wiser investment as they are typically more mature, educated, professional, ethical and embody the traits and characteristics of what a fitness professional should be.
They will have a formal University education or certification in nutrition and provide integrated nutrition coaching into every client's daily fitness training program.
Perhaps you're starting to get a better idea of prices and would like to narrow your search to a female trainer.
2,500 - 3,300 Thai Baht Personal Trainers in Bangkok
Personal trainers in this price range are typically foreigners with an NCCA accredited and relevant certification, University BS or Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology and 20 plus years of training experience. This tier will include the best personal trainers in Bangkok.
I myself, Dennis Romatz being an example, will be a fitness industry ambassador, leader and have a proven track record and long list of training clients with safe, successful results. He or she may possess multiple NCCA accredited relevant certifications as well as supplemental nutrition, sports performance, strength & conditioning, pre & post natal, Senior's training and group fitness certifications.
The fitness professional in Bangkok in this price range is an absolutely wise spend in terms of being able to maximize your training sessions, improve your health and transform your body.
This expert coach will offer clinical based personal training. He or she will perform thorough exercise tests and fitness assessments, design a goal appropriate fitness training program style, utilize clinical based, biomechanically perfect fitness training modalities and methodologies, monitor and scale your fitness training program for ongoing, sustainable results and achievements, pay close attention to the smallest Kinesiology details to ensure flawless human movement and be a detailed perfectionist.
Searching for a personal trainer often starts with the question, "How much does a personal trainer cost?" so that people know how much to pay, or budget. As we've explored in this guide, the answer varies significantly based on factors like qualifications, experience, and training location.
Your fitness journey is unique, and so are your needs. Take the time to research and connect with trainers who resonate with your goals and values. Don't hesitate to ask questions, seek recommendations, and, most importantly, prioritize your safety and well-being as cutting corners on price may not yield the results you desire.
As you search for a personal trainer, consider the qualifications and experience that matter most to you. Are you seeking a trainer with an NCCA-accredited certification, a university degree, or decades of experience? Do you prefer the convenience of a gym or the personalized touch of a freelance trainer who comes to your condo doorstep?
Ultimately, a personal trainer in Bangkok can be your guiding light towards a healthier and fitter you. Whether you choose a lower priced, entry-level trainer or invest in a seasoned expert who comes with a higher price tag, remember that the right trainer is the one who helps you achieve your fitness aspirations safely and effectively.
